2.2 Information from Google Calendar and Gmail
When you connect your Google account, we access:
- Calendar Events: Event titles, dates, locations, recurrence patterns, and descriptions to detect birthdays, anniversaries, and travel events
- Gmail Messages: Email content, sender/recipient information, and location mentions to identify contacts and extract location data for travel matching
- Calendar Metadata: Timezone settings and calendar information necessary to provide the Service
We only access calendar and email data necessary to provide the Service. We scan email content to identify contacts and locations, but we do not store full email content. We extract only contact names and location information relevant to travel reminders. We do not access other personal information from your Google account unless you explicitly grant permission.
2.3 Information from Meta (Facebook)
If you choose to connect your Meta (Facebook) account, we may access (with your permission):
- Friend Information: Friend list and friend profile information
- Location Data: Location information from your profile (if provided)
- Profile Information: Basic profile data to enhance contact matching
Meta integration is optional. We use this information solely to enhance travel reminder matching by identifying friends who may be in travel destinations. We comply with Meta's Platform Terms and Data Use Policy. You can disconnect Meta integration at any time.
2.4 Automatically Collected Information
We automatically collect certain information when you use our Service:
- Usage Data: How you interact with the Service, features used, and time spent

- Respond to your inquiries and provide customer support
- Monitor and analyze usage patterns and trends

4. SMS Text Messaging and Consent
4.1 Consent for SMS
We only send SMS messages to phone numbers where you have provided explicit, written consent. By checking the consent checkbox and providing your phone number, you agree to receive SMS messages from Somehow I Will Remember. Your consent is:
- Voluntary and not a condition of purchase
- Specific to Somehow I Will Remember and our birthday reminder service
- Recorded with timestamps for compliance purposes
- Revocable at any time by replying STOP or updating your preferences

8.3 Google Calendar and Gmail Access
You can revoke Google Calendar and Gmail access at any time through your Google Account settings or by disconnecting the integration in your Somehow I Will Remember account settings. Note that revoking access will disable travel reminders and contact matching features.
8.4 Meta (Facebook) Access
You can revoke Meta (Facebook) access at any time through your Meta account settings or by disconnecting the integration in your Somehow I Will Remember account settings. Meta integration is optional and can be disconnected without affecting other features.
8.5 Account Deletion
You can delete your account at any time through your account settings. Upon deletion, we will delete your personal information, except where we are required to retain it for legal or compliance purposes.
8.6 Data Portability
You can export your birthday data at any time through your account settings.
9. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as necessary to:
- Provide the Service to you
- Comply with legal obligations
- Resolve disputes and enforce agreements
- Maintain SMS consent records as required by TCPA/CTIA
When you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable timeframe, except where retention is required by law.
